Silverstone Track: Three Corner names in detail

The Loop#N#This tight left hand corner was added when the circuit layout was revised for the 2010 British Grand Prix. Preceded by Village, a slow 2nd gear right hander taken at around 110km/h, The Loop is the slowest corner on the circuit. Also taken in 2nd gear, the drivers slow down to between 85-90km/h to negotiate this tricky corner.

As Bernie Ecclestone threatens to say goodbye to one legendary track, it is time for another to remind him that there is more to Formula One than money. Silverstone returns this weekend as it hosts the British Grands Prix, one of the most prestigious races on the calendar.

Bus

Megabus provide transfers from various pick up points throughout the country. There are 34 confirmed locations for the day of the Grand Prix in 2021 so there’s probably one near you.

Train

Getting to the British Grand Prix from further afield, the more comfortable way may be to take the train and later transfer to a bus to get to the circuit.

Taxi

If you’ll be taking the train to Milton Keynes, Northampton or Banbury you can get a taxi to cover the rest of the 28-30km trip to the circuit. This will set you back no more than £40.

Parking at Silverstone

Parking is provided at the circuit near Luffield / Abbey. Individual tickets are available for Friday, Saturday and Sunday as well as a 3 day pass. You’ll need to book this in advance as it won’t be possible to buy parking tickets on the day and parking without a valid ticket will result in a hefty fine.

Silverstone Park and Ride

Instead of parking at Silverstone it’s less expensive and in many ways more convenient to use the circuit’s park and ride service. Simply pre-book a park and ride ticket, park within the vicinity of the circuit and ride the bus to the circuit.
