On the road to adopting Canvas, students can find their courses in a few places.
UAF is currently adopting Canvas but many instructors will still be using Blackboard for their courses this semester.
Follow the instructions below (click on the plus button) to find the platform your instructor is using (works best for eCampus courses).
UA account passwords can be reset by individuals who know their UA username or UAID# by going to https://elmo.alaska.edu/.
If you’ve logged into Blackboard, Canvas or Google Classroom prior to Aug. 23, your instructor may not have published the course yet. If you have concerns, contact your instructor!
A: UAF has always allowed faculty to make decisions about technology based on their students’ needs. These days, you’re likely to see a few possible learning management systems at UAF including things like WordPress, audio-only, and synchronous Zoom classes with little reliance on an LMS at all.
In the Content Type drop-down menu, choose the Canvas Course Export Package option.
To import all content from the course, select the All Content radio button [1].
If you want to adjust the due dates associated with the course events and assignments, click the Adjust events and due dates checkbox.
The Current Jobs section displays the status of your import. Running reports display a progress bar indicating the time remaining to complete the import [1].
You can export a Canvas course to give to someone in another Canvas account, to upload to another institution's account at a later date, or to create a copy as a backup on your local computer. You can import an export file into Canvas at any time.
In the Export Type heading, click the Course radio button [1]. Click the Create Export button [2].
View the progress bar. Exporting a course in Canvas may take a few minutes, depending on its size. You will receive an email when the export is complete.
