The Plantation CourseThe Plantation Course is the site of the PGA TOUR's Sentry Tournament of Champions each January featuring an elite field of previous year's PGA TOUR winners. The field has included golf greats such as Tiger Woods, Vijay Singh, Justin Leonard, Ernie Els, Davis Love III and many more.
The seven ahupua'a of Honolua, Honokahua, Honokowai, Honokohau, Kahana, Mahinahina and Mailepai, with their perfect bays and beaches, later were joined to form Honolua Ranch, and what is now known as Kapalua Resort. Its modern history began in 1836 when Dr. Dwight Baldwin came to Hawaii and settled on Maui.

Kapalua is situated on the northwest coast of Maui. Most of the Plantation Course holes have views of the Hawaiian island of Moloka'i. In general, the course is gently hilly and undulating with plenty of elevation changes. You have to hit a lot of uphill and downhill shots.
That is saying something considering we've played some spectacular golf all over the world including the Old Course at St. Andrews, Scotland. Kapalua's courses provide almost countless dramatic elevation changes which in turn offer unparalleled views of the Pacific Ocean and other Hawaiian Islands across the water.
15 months ago they moved the Bay Course check in back to the original Village Course check in next to Taverna Restaurant. The Pineapple Grill is now closed.
Kapalua's greens were noticeably faster than Wailea's. There are two courses at Kapalua, this one and the Bay Course. The clubhouse is spacious and beautiful. Inside, they have the Tournament of Champions trophy on display as well as other tournament-related exhibits.
