The Wyndham Championship was founded in 1938 as the Greater Greensboro Open, and Sedgefield Country Club, the tournament's current home, was one of the original host courses. In fact, 18 former winners are members of the World Golf Hall of Fame. The Wyndham Championship is the only regular season PGA TOUR event contested on a course originally designed by Donald Ross. The 2022 tournament, set for August 2-7 will mark the 83rd edition of North Carolina’s oldest professional golf event.

The Wyndham field is almost always interesting, and it has some nice names this year. Hideki Matsuyama, Webb Simpson, Patrick Reed, Rickie Fowler, Bubba Watson, Adam Scott, Tommy Fleetwood, Matthew Wolff, Justin Rose and Zalatoris will all tee it up this week.
