Today, many rural communities use AEMTs or EMT Intermediates as the highest level of EMS response, but they also work in some Advanced Life Support (ALS) systems alongside paramedics. AEMTs and EMT-Intermediates are typically paid slightly more than EMTs, but substantially less than paramedics.
If you didn't put the work into the class, you will likely fail the NREMT—even if you did OK in class. The NREMT is a challenging exam that asks you to think, apply, evaluate, and make decisions. Yes, you can pass the NREMT test on the first try. In fact, look at the statistics. If 33 percent of EMTs and 23 percent of paramedics fail the exam, it means 67 percent and 73 percent, respectively, passed the test. You can be in those passing percentages if you are aware of how the test works and how to study for it.

Teaching topics is the same as taking or attending the topic. Instructing topics obtain the same credit as learns on an hour-for-hour basis. Instructor hours may be used for instructional EMS programs, full courses, individual topics, EMS certificate courses, and standardized courses.

Grand Rounds are often used by physicians and typically take place in a hospital or agency setting . EMS providers may attend these “Grand Rounds,” with the understanding that all treatments discussed during the Grand Round may not be within their scope of knowledge and practice.

Ok, I have a question. This will be my first time to recert, as a Paramedic for NREMT. I have taken a traditional 48-hour refresher course, this would leave me with 24-hours of CEs to get. ACLS can count for as many as 16 hours, I'm guessing that because my ACLS with just be the refresher course, it will only count for 8 hours (?).
