Here's how to enter a Course ID in Super Mario Maker 2 Course World and start playing shared levels. To play shared courses in Super Mario Maker 2, launch the game and head into Course World. This can be done from the game's title screen by selecting Play, then selecting Course World.
Downloading a level makes it available through play without having to search for the level again. That's all there is to playing shared Super Mario Maker 2 levels. Load up the game and head into Course Mode, then enter the level's Course ID and either download or play the level.
Select it to open a menu where both Maker and Course IDs can be entered. Within this screen, players can follow popular Makers and download specific levels through their Course IDs. Once the Course ID has been entered, users can simply play the level using the Play button, or alternatively download it to one of their 32 save slots.

Just head to the main Course World screen, select the Search with ID tab towards the upper right of the screen, and type in their code. You can even follow Makers that you like by selecting their name and tapping on the star in the upper right corner.
Downloaded Courses The courses downloaded from Course World by pressing the download button in its course data will appear here, so players can play those course even without Wi-Fi access.

To upload a custom course in Super Mario Maker 2's Course Maker mode, simply select the Save/Load button and choose the Upload option. In handheld mode, users can upload their levels by tapping on the button with their finger or a Nintendo Switch compatible stylus.

Super Mario Maker 2 does not allow you to edit downloaded maps. Whether this was something on Nintendo's mind, based on what happened in the previous game, is up for debate. Whatever the reason, you can't download levels and edit other peoples' creations this time around.

Course World is a mode where everyone can share their courses to the world. You need Nintendo Switch Online to access it. Each user can only post a maximum of 100 levels.
Press the plus button on your controller to open the Coursebot. Select the course you want to play in either "My Courses" or "Downloaded Courses." Select the tab that says "Play Together" this will be on the right side of the screen. Activate the controllers you and your friend will use and enjoy.
Nintendo has again increased the limit for the number of courses players can upload in Super Mario Maker 2, from 64 to 100.
You can now upload even more levels to your Super Mario Maker 2 account. Nintendo is celebrating passing over 10 million user-created courses in Super Mario Maker 2 by granting all players more upload slots.
Alas, if you already uploaded your level and forgot to make a backup copy, there's nothing (AFAIK) you can do except delete the level from course world.
You can grab the course ID for any course that you’ve created by looking in your Maker Profile. If you head into the Course World menu option you will be able to access the profile and grab your course ID for anything you’ve uploaded.
