There are two components to course registration: Advance Registration and Course Selection (otherwise known as Add/Drop). Please note that permits for courses are granted by academic departments and programs. Students should contact the academic department or program directly to make permit requests.
You may register at any time after your scheduled registration appointment through the first week of classes. Keep in mind that the earlier you register, the more likely you are to get into the classes you want. You are not allowed to have someone else register you for your classes. Find out when registration periods begin and end.
Click the menu item entitled “Registration” to begin. Click the menu item entitled “Look Up Classes”. Select a subject (or click and drag with your mouse to select all subjects) and any other search criteria you want to use.
Registration for summer courses is on a first-come, first-serve basis with no class priority for all summer sessions. All course offerings listed on the online Schedule of Classes are contingent on approval of budget and adequate enrollment.

Payment for Spring term is made in iROAR and due by the posted deadlines or you may incur a $150 late fee and schedule cancellation—you are responsible for rebuilding your schedule in iROAR. You are not guaranteed re-enrollment in any of your dropped classes. Billing and payment information is published by Student Financial Services.

Registration holds, incurred for financial, health requirements and/or academic reasons are placed on your record to prevent registration for classes. The holds must be cleared before beginning the registration process, adding a course, or appealing an academic dismissal.
A student who tampers or attempts to tamper with the registration records of another student, including but not limited to dropping and adding classes will be subject to disciplinary action as defined in the Student Code of Conduct.
Auditing allows a student the privilege of attending a class but not to take part in class activities or examinations. Credit is not earned and a grade is not assigned when auditing a class. Audited classes carry no credit and do not count toward full-time status. Courses involving extensive laboratory work are generally not open to auditors.#N#Students who wish to audit a course must first register for the class in the normal manner using MyRED. Searching for Classes. Students may search for classes in two ways: within the Web Registration System or from the Registrar's Office website. The search option within the Web Registration System (WRS) allows students to register for classes. A secure login is not required for the search from the Registrar's Office.

If you’re a currently enrolled student at IU Bloomington, you should register during early registration. All students new to IU Bloomington will register during open registration, usually during New Student Orientation.
