You must take the exam within 3 months of your registration. Once you receive your exam registration notification from the “PSI” testing service, you will need to make an appointment to take the NH Real Estate Salesperson exam online at PSI Website or you can call the “PSI” Testing Services at 1-800-733-9267.
You can retake the New Hampshire licensing exam up to eight times within your six-month testing eligibility window. If you fail to pass within this window, you'll need to retake an accredited pre-license education course.
The passing rate for the New Hampshire Real Estate Salesperson Exam is 70%. This test is purposefully difficult, but not impossible. Be sure to pay attention during your pre-license course and take studying seriously. If you put the proper effort forth, we know that you can pass on your first attempt!

Two attempts are allowed to pass the final exam. If the student does not pass in the second attempt, the student will be required to re-purchase and re-take the course if the student desires credit for the course.
At that point, they will enter a two-year grace period to re-instate their license. During this time, they may not practice real estate. Licensees in their grace period may complete the same renewal requirements as active licensees, plus a higher renewal fee.
Any applicant convicted of any other felony shall not be allowed to obtain a real estate license within five (5) years of the completion of any criminal sentence, including parole and probation.

Once you've acquired a real estate license in New Hampshire, it is valid for two years from the date of issuance. You will be required to renew your license prior to the expiration date to ensure it remains in an active status. In order to renew, you'll need to meet the renewal requirements. These include completing additional continuing education coursework prior to your license expiration.
If you fail to renew in time, your license will lapse and go into an inactive status. While in an inactive status you will not be able to engage in any real estate transactions that require a license. You have a 6-month grace period after your license expires in which you can renew your license before you may be subject to reapplying for a new license and retaking the real estate exam. Depending on the time lapsed and circumstances surrounding the lapse, the commission may or may not grant an exception.
