The TCNJ academic year is divided into four terms (Fall, Winter, Spring and Summer). The Summer term is further divided into three sessions (Summer 1, Summer 2, and Summer 3). Students may take a maximum of four course units during the summer term, with no more than two units in a single session.
How do I take more than 4 units in a semester (Course Overload)? Contact your department's Assistant Dean about a Course Overload. Every department has a different process. If approved, the Assistant Dean will send the information directly to our office.
No student may graduate with fewer than 32 course units. These do not include courses numbered below 100 (e.g., MAT 095). Individual programs may require more than this minimum number of course units, consult the section of this bulletin describing individual program descriptions or the program planners available.
