ACLS Written Exam The ACLS Provider exam is 50 multiple-choice questions, with a required passing score is 84%. All AHA exams are now “open resource” which means student may use the ACLS manual, study guides, handouts and personal notes during the exam.
You will receive three attempts for each course. After each attempt you will receive an exam scoring report showing any incorrect answers. If you fail three times you will need to retake the course.
When can I expect to receive my course completion card from the AHA? Training Centers must issue course completion cards within 20 days of successful course completion. Please contact your AHA Instructor or Training Center Coordinator if you have any questions about your card.

The American Heart Association ACLS Instructor certification course is for healthcare professionals and experienced AHA ACLS Instructors. It is recommended that only healthcare professionals take this course, since it covers highly technical skills such as cardiac rhythm interpretation. However, lay people are welcome as well. All students who participate in this course are required to have a current ACLS instructor manual. If you sign up for the course, expect a fun and challenging session that will elevate your ACLS skills to a whole new level. Potential instructors are also informed they must be monitored teaching a course in the future. Upon successful completion of the course, an ACLS Instructor Course completion card will be issued, which is valid for 2 years from the monitoring date.

Once downloaded, Instructors can play the digital course videos offline. The ACLS Course Digital Videos are to be used by ACLS Instructors to teach the ACLS Provider Course. These videos are intended for use by a single AHA Instructor conducting AHA courses. All International instructors in the discipline are required to have their own AHA Course Digital Video.
