Use a 9-iron on a short par-3 of about 130 yards. The 9-iron will help you get loft on the ball, and that's important because you want the ball to come in high and soft. If you come into the green high and soft, your shot is much less likely to bounce off the green.
Are par 3 courses good for beginners? Yes. Par 3 golf courses are shorter and typically have less trouble. They're also more casual and relaxed, which is perfect for the golfer just getting started in the game.

With an average round of golf lasting 4-5 hours on a regulation 18 hole course, a Par 3 course usually plays in about 2 ½ hours and 9 holes in a little over an hour.
Teaching junior golfers and children how to play golf is a lot easier on a par 3 course than a normal course. The course is such a short length that even toddlers and smaller kids can play too. You can teach them how to swing the driver as well and show them the basics of the game such as the short game and putting.
There is no evidence that golf clubs deteriorate over time. Well maintained clubs will last a lifetime. 10+ year old clubs should be checked for better options but clubs less than 5 years old do not need replacing except for wear and tear issues to which wedges and forged irons are most vulnerable.

Par-3 hole – just one stroke is needed for reaching the green, and then two putts. Par-4 hole – two strokes are needed, then two putts. Par-5 hole – three strokes are needed to reach that green + two putts, so that's a total of five strokes.
Twin Brooks is an exciting 9-hole par three golf course and driving range that includes three additional practice holes and a practice area. Twin Brooks also features a golf pro shop, snack bar, rental clubs and pull carts. A new fleet of 12 golf cars are available for rent.
