However, it is not always possible to tell from these imaging tests whether a growth is benign or cancerous. In ultrasound-guided breast biopsy, ultrasound imaging is used to help guide the radiologist’s instruments to the site of the abnormal growth.
MICU at UHealth tower is a closed ICU service and provides fellows an excellent opportunity and clinical experience in taking care of critically ill cancer patients. The critical care team consists of an attending faculty member, critical care nurse practitioner, fellow and at times residents or interns rotating from other departments. The fellows are encouraged to assume a more active role as team leader.
Jackson ACC clinic is the primary continuity clinic for our fellows and this is a Monday afternoon half-day clinic. This is also the location for our dedicated pulmonary nodule clinic.
This is a secondary continuity clinic, where fellows have the opportunity to care for patients with chronic lung diseases including COPD, asthma, ILD, Sarcoidosis, and lung cancer. Fellows also participate in Wednesday afternoon tumor board.

Our Internal Medicine Residency offers a three-year categorical program, as well as a one-year preliminary program. Residents from anesthesia, internal medicine-pediatrics and neurology join us on our journey in their first year of residency.
