Jul 17, 2018 · Took the Kaplan prep course and scored 27. Took the TPR course and then scored 515 (~34 on the old MCAT). BUT, this also could be because I didn’t start out “fresh” like I did with Kaplan. I found Kaplan’s verbal strategy to be complete crap, but N=1. Loved how TPR goes into greater detail in each subject.
My school is offering an on-campus Kaplan MCAT prep course for $1450 (regularly priced at $2300). It offers 516 hours of prep along with practice MCAT exams and a study plan that highlights strengths and weaknesses. I was wondering if anyone had opinions on if it is really worth it or not. The general chemistry, organic chemistry, and physics sections were well needed reviews if you were like me and it had been a while since you have taken any of these courses.
The primary difference between the Kaplan and Princeton Review MCAT offerings revolves around instruction. Kaplan provides better quality on demand, video-based instruction, while we tend to like the quantity and approach of Princeton's live classes better.
