The Maneuver Support Center of Excellence offers Basic Combat Training (BCT) for most non-combat arms soldiers, and Advanced Individual Training (AIT) for MOS (Military Occupational Specialty) 88M (motor transport operator) and MOS 74D (Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear specialists).
Upon arrival, trainees receive their army haircuts and are issued uniforms and gear. This phase orients the trainees and teaches them soldierization skills, including the Army Core Values, military customs and courtesies, along with drill and ceremony.

It takes a few days for the gears to grind. If you arrive at basic training before the 10th of the month, you'll get paid on the 15th. If you arrive after the 10th of the month, you won't see your first paycheck until the 1st of the following month, but it will include all pay you're entitled to, as of that date.

Basic Combat Training. Basic Combat Training is 10 weeks long, and is broken into three phases. Over the course of training, you’ll learn basic tactical and survival skills, as well as how to shoot, rappel and march. You’ll also learn what Army life will be like, including military customs and the Army’s Seven Core Values.
Much of this training is hands-on and in the field. The length of this training depends on your job, but it can last from four to 52 weeks.
Your Military Occupation Specialty or MOS, which is your job in the Army, is a major factor in determining where you’ll go for basic training.
The final phase, called the “Blue Phase,” consists of weeks six through nine. As you wrap up your training, you’ll become more familiar with the use of automatic weapons and hand grenades during weapons training, and you'll put the rest of your training to the test, as you work to pass a series of tests and challenges.
