World renowned golf course architect Rees Jones designed Thousand Oaks, which opened in 1999. Jones has earned the moniker “The Open Doctor” for his redesign of courses in preparation for major championships.

Where can I play sports in Thousand Oaks?

Adjacent to Thousand Oaks High School, the park offers something for everyone. The park is open daily from 7:00am – 10:00pm. For general park information, call 805-495-6471 or email parks@crpd.org. Use of the outdoor volleyball, basketball, and tennis courts is on a first-come, first-served basis.

How many acres is Thousand Oaks Community Park?

Property for the 35.8-acre Thousand Oaks Community Park was acquired in 1970. A 22-acre portion was developed in 1974 including a community center, gym, soccer and softball fields, sports courts, picnic structure, and reservable meeting rooms. This is the only park with racquetball courts and it is also home to Rabbit Flats Disc Golf Course.

Where is Rabbit Flats Golf Course?

The Conejo Recreation and Park District re-established the sport in the Conejo Valley on May 22, 2010 with the grand opening of the 18 hole Rabbit Flats Disc Golf Course, located on 9 acres at Thousand Oaks Community Park. There are 9 baskets for beginners and 18 for more advanced players, playing from 9 tees through some challenging fairways.

When was disc golf invented?

In 1969, George Sappenfield, Recreation Supervisor for Conejo Recreation and Park District, introduced a new game by conducting the first official Disc Golf Tournament. He contacted Wham-O Manufacturing and asked for help with the event. Wham-O supplied frisbees for throwing and hula hoops for use as targets. And with so Disc Golf was born right here in the Conejo Valley! Since then, Disc Golf has exploded with its own professional organization of nearly 40,000 members, tournaments worldwide, and courses across the world.

About this tournament

Welcome to Year 2 of the 7OO! The difficult, awesome, professional gold layout at 7 Oaks makes its return. This will be a two rounds in one day, unsanctioned singles tournament. MPO, FPO, and MP40 will be the only divisions due to the need to cap the event at 72 players. $80 entry with 100% payout to <25% of the field.

Refund policy

Jon Williams is responsible for all refunds/cancellations. 100% refund if requested more than 48 hrs before event, 50% refund if between 24-48 hrs before, and no refund if requested less than 24 hrs before event.
