WITHDRAWING FROM A COURSE AFTER IT HAS BEGUN (BOTH ONLINE AND FACE-TO-FACE COURSES)

Once classes begin, students may withdraw from a course but will be charged a prorated amount of tuition depending what percentage of the semester was completed before the Registrar’s Office received the Add/Drop Form. Tuition refunds are calculated from the date the Office of the Registrar receives the Add/Drop Form (see Refund Schedule ).

After the Withdrawal Without Failing period has ended, if you withdraw from a class, you will receive a "WF" withdraw failing, on your transcript. Therefore, after careful consideration of your circumstance, you may consider staying in the course and attempting to earn the highest grade possible.

Hardship Withdrawal

If you find it necessary to withdraw from the college because of an emergency, a crisis, or unavoidable circumstances that will impede your academic progress, you may be granted a Hardship Withdrawal.

Withdrawing from courses with extenuating circumstances

If you encounter unexpected and extenuating circumstances that occur after the schedule adjustment period or after you have already withdrawn from the maximum 16 semester hours allotted in your undergraduate degree, you may want to consider submitting a Course Withdrawal Request through the Students First Office.

Military Withdrawal

Students who are required to withdraw from a course or courses due to military service will receive a WM grade. Military withdrawals will be exempt from the 16 semester hour limit and will not be included in student’s attempted hours for academic standing calculation.
