Apply for admission (application fee required) or readmission to UNL at the Office of Admissions, ALEX, 1410 Q Street. The application deadline for admission or readmission for Summer Sessions 2022 is May 1, 2022. Students who hold an undergraduate and/or graduate degree (s) must have a current graduate admission status to enroll for course work.

If after the last day to add courses for the Summer Session you decide to drop a course or courses and/or withdraw from the University, you should contact the Husker Hub, (402) 472-2030, before you act to discuss the possible need for repayment of federal aid and your eligibility for subsequent aid in future semesters.
To withdraw from all courses, access MyRED, drop all of your classes or process a "Cancellation/Withdrawal Form" by visiting Husker Hub. A withdrawal means that you are no longer enrolled for courses for the term at the University.
Undergraduates must be enrolled for at least 12 credit hours to be classified as full-time students. Courses with a grade of "I" (Incomplete) from a prior term cannot be used to determine full-time status for the current term.

12 creditsSince the federal government defines full-time enrollment as 12 credits per semester for financial aid purposes, students often mistake their “full-time” status with a guarantee for on-time graduation.
A college student is considered to be enrolled on a full-time basis for student financial aid purposes if they are enrolled for at least 12 credits a semester. Since a class typically requires at least three credits, 12 credits will require four classes per semester.

Any drops or withdrawals after the last day to withdraw are for extraordinary circumstances and are by petition only. Undergraduate students should contact their college advising center or dean's office to obtain the "Petition for Late Withdrawal" form. Graduate students should contact Graduate Studies to obtain the petition form.
Summer. No adds, including adds for mini session courses, will be processed after midnight on the last day to add classes (see above) without written permission from the instructor of the class and the dean's office or advising center of your college. Late adds are by exception.

A "W" will automatically be noted on your transcript for all dropped courses after the second week of classes (full-term courses). Students (undergraduate and graduate) may withdraw from individual classes or from all classes, regardless of the circumstances, before midnight on the last day to withdraw.
Late adds are by exception. The approval of all parties involved is not guaranteed. Financial aid recipients who process late course adds are encouraged to contact the Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid as this could impact financial aid awards.

During Late Registration, initial registration for the term is on a first-come, first-served basis, but students will be charged a $100.00 late registration fee for an initial registration for the term that occurs the first day of classes. This fee will appear on your first billing for tuition.
A student who tampers or attempts to tamper with the registration records of another student, including but not limited to dropping and adding classes will be subject to disciplinary action as defined in the Student Code of Conduct.
Auditing allows a student the privilege of attending a class but not to take part in class activities or examinations. Credit is not earned and a grade is not assigned when auditing a class. Audited classes carry no credit and do not count toward full-time status. Courses involving extensive laboratory work are generally not open to auditors.#N#Students who wish to audit a course must first register for the class in the normal manner using MyRED. After registering for the course, obtain the instructor's permission by having them send a detailed email via their UNL email account to the Office of the University Registrar no later than the last day to add a course for the respective session, see: Academic Calendar.

Before priority registration, students may access the Enrollment section of MyRED to place classes in their shopping cart, but the enrollment process cannot be completed until the designated appointment time. Appointment times are assigned to eligible students based on their current class level (actual earned hours).
Summer is treated as one term for record keeping purposes. Students who withdraw (drop) from all classes after the beginning of the Pre- and Eight-week sessions will have a term withdrawal notation and the date noted on their academic record (even if no courses are recorded for the summer).
