Note: Full-time DEC students who drop a course below the minimum full-time course load or whose attendance is not confirmed will see their status changed to part-time. Tuition fees will be re-calculated and charged accordingly.
JAC Bistro located on the main floor of the Casgrain building, opposite the pool, is open in the evening until 19:00, Monday to Friday. Evening Credit course (s) dropped on or before the withdrawal deadline will not show on student’s transcript. Failing grade (EC/Echec) will appear on the transcript for any course not officially withdrawn.
The student fees are administered jointly by Student Services and the Student Union (SUJAC) through the Student Activity Committee (SAC). Chaired by a student, SAC is composed of three students and two staff members.
Any fees collected by the College may be paid by cash, cheque, Master Card, VISA or bank cards (Interac, Instabank, etc.), or money order made payable to John Abbott College. A charge will be imposed for each cheque returned because of insufficient funds.
Students withdrawing from any class can do so through SiS. Verbal messages to faculty or staff do not constitute official notification.
You may now put yourself on a wait list through SiS if the course you want is full. When you try to register for a closed course, the system will ask you if you want to be put on a wait list.
Course Withdrawal - Evening Credit courses. Evening Credit course (s) that are dropped on or before the withdrawal deadline of Friday, February 19, 2021 will not show on student transcripts. After the February 19 deadline, a failure (EC/Echec) will appear on the transcript.
Classes may be postponed on short notice if a teacher is ill or an emergency arises. As a service to students, the Centre for Continuing Education endeavours to contact all students. (It is essential that students provide up-to-date home and/or business telephone numbers on their registration forms.)
If the College cannot open because of a major snowstorm or other unforeseen event, radio and TV stations will be advised in the morning and an announcement will be posted on the MYJAC Portal and the college web site. Classes may be postponed on short notice if a teacher is ill or an emergency arises.
Only students with a student visa and C.A.Q. valid until December 14th, 2021, and medical insurance are permitted to register in credit courses.
International 3. fees vary according to program. EVENING CREDIT COURSE WITHDRAWAL - February 19, 2021. Evening Credit course (s) that are dropped on or before the withdrawal deadline of Monday, September 27, 2021 will not show on student transcripts.
Students who meet the admission requirements for a DEC program, are eligible to register on a part-time or full-time basis, in courses pertaining to a DEC program.#N#Due to limited course offerings, it is not possible to follow an entire DEC program in Continuing Education.
Spring II 2022 Registration and Refund Deadlines. Last Day to Add a Class: April 3, 2022 at 11:59pm. Last Day to Drop a Class: April 10, 2022 at 11:59pm. Last Day to Withdraw from a Class: April 22, 2022 at 4:30pm. ----------------------------------------------------------------------.
If a student fails to return or is dismissed permanently, no refund will be given. In instances where a student is receiving federal financial aid, the aid will be recalculated and refunded to the federal government. The student is still responsible for the entirety of the tuition.
Students may drop a course section using SIS self-service until the drop deadline according to the schedule below. Once the self-service deadlines have passed, students may request to add or withdrawal from a section using the add/drop form.
