George CobbKeowee Key's George Cobb designed championship golf course is completely renovated by Richard Mandell, and re-opened in the Fall of 2019. This 6,426-yard, 18-hole, par 72 course is nearing certification in the Audubon Sanctuary Program, which promotes environmental stewardship.
It is believed that the Palmetto Golf Club is the oldest continually-operating 18-hole golf course in the Southeast that is still in its original location. Palmetto Golf Club could also be the second oldest golf club in the United States as well.

South Carolina is home to more than 450 golf courses, including some of the most famous in the world.
The first golf course in the United States was Oakhurst Links, built in 1884 in White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia. It was originally a six hole track which was later expanded to nine holes. Oakhurst was the first course and golf club in the United States.
Our new Southside Walking Trail opened in April 2018. The 2.2-mile trail spans the length of South Flagship drive offering a hilly grade through beautiful pines.
The Southside Community Pool re-opened in May 2018, with expanded deck and more parking. It’s a favorite among sunbathers and loungers, with umbrellas, cabana chairs and changing rooms and a covered pavilion.
The Fitness & Racquet Center re-opened October 2018, expanding to 1/3 larger space to accommodate more fitness classes, a virtual fitness room, all new aerobic equipment, and an updated smoothie bar.
The 26,690 sq. ft. completely renovated and modernized facility opened July 2019. The new Vista Ballroom features 12’ ceilings and seats over 250. The newly renovated Bistro opened in October 2018 with triple seating capacity, an expanded kitchen featuring a pizza oven and a fabulous new menu.
The Driving Range and Putting Green re-opened in October 2018. The new Putting Green mimics the surface of the renovated golf course, with Zoysia turf.
Our popular 18-hole George Cobb Course re-opened September 2019 with new irrigation, improved drainage, smoother Fairways, new Zoysia Greens, plus an additional Tee box on each hole to address all levels of play.
