12 unitsGrants (Federal Pell Grant, Cal Grant, and University Grants) require enrollment in at least 12 units a quarter in order to maintain maximum eligibility. Enrollment below 12 units on the census date each quarter (at the end of third week of classes) will result in reduction of and billing for these awards.
Credit values for financial aid eligibility are as follows: Full-time: 12–15 credits (you must obtain the approval of your academic preceptor if you enroll in 14 or fewer credits). Part-time: 6–11 credits (financial aid may be reduced).

Summer is considered the first quarter of the academic year. If you wish to be considered for student aid during the summer, you must apply for aid for the academic year following the summer you are planning to attend . Please complete the FAFSA or DREAM application before the March 2nd priority application deadline.
Summer Financial Aid eligibility is based on the exact sessions and number of units per session you indicate on your Summer Aid Application. You will be subject to billing if you switch the sessions attended and/or take fewer units than indicated on the application.
Application closes on June 1, 2021. Summer Institute Programs are NOT the same as the College Summer Institute. Students participating in the College Summer Institute should complete the general Summer Session Financial Aid Application. Students pay a $150 non-refundable deposit.

What is the verification process? Each year, the federal (FAFSA) or state (DREAM Act) application processor selects students, for verification. There are also some students who are selected for verification by UCLA even if they were not selected by the federal or state processor .

Private alternative education loans are continuing education loans made available by banks and private lending institutions, not by the federal government. The interest rates, fees, and repayment schedules vary from one lender to another, and eligibility is typically based on creditworthiness.
Even if you withdraw from a course, the course will count as one of the eight courses you are eligible to use toward a UCLA Extension Grant. You may only transfer to a course other than your grant-funded course if the course you selected is canceled or closed prior to processing your grant application.
Important. UCLA Extension does not reimburse enrollment fees if you receive a UCLA Extension Grant but have already paid for the class out-of-pocket. Applicants who have not received a UCLA Extension Grant in the previous two quarters will be given priority. Private Alternative Education Loans.
When the FAFSA form says “you” or “your,” it’s referring to the student, so make sure to enter your (the student’s) information. If the form is asking for your parent’s information, it will specify that in the question. Entering information that doesn’t match your FSA ID information.
When you register for an FSA ID, you may need to wait up to three days before you can use it to sign your FAFSA form electronically. You AND your parent (if you’re considered a dependent student) will each need your own, separate FSA IDs if you both want to sign your FAFSA form online.
If you then enter a different name, SSN, and/or date of birth on the FAFSA form, you’ll receive an error message.
For this question, you report only college grant and scholarship amounts that were reported to the IRS as income. That means you should not use the amount listed on your 1098-T; you should report the amount listed on your tax return. Do not use the number in the adjusted gross income (AGI) field. .
It does matter. For one, contrary to popular belief, there is no income “cut-off” when it comes to federal student aid. Also, the FAFSA form is not just the application for the Federal Pell Grant. It’s also the application for Federal Work-Study funds, federal student loans, and even scholarships and grants offered by your state, school, ...
Also, you cannot be your own legal guardian. Parents. The FAFSA form has very specific guidelines about which parent’s information needs to be reported.

Because of this, impacted classes may be difficult to enroll in because a lot of people need to take them and during enrollment they quickly fill up. You can find a complete list of impacted courses . The main differences between regular and impacted courses are the drop deadlines and restrictions.
You can still drop a class during Weeks 3 - 10, but late fees, transcript notations, and petitions will apply depending on the week you drop. Please note, there is a limit of three restricted late drops throughout your entire undergraduate career at UCLA.

UCLA Standards for Satisfactory Academic Progress measures a student’s progress toward degree completion using both qualitative (GPA) and quantitative (units completed compared to units attempted) methods. To be eligible for financial aid at UCLA, students must meet or exceed these standards.
Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) for financial aid purposes measures a student’s progress relative to their length of enrollment. UCLA Financial Aid and Scholarships has revised the Standards for Satisfactory Academic Progress in accordance with new federal regulations. UCLA Standards for Satisfactory Academic Progress measures a student’s progress toward degree completion using both qualitative (GPA) and quantitative (units completed compared to units attempted) methods. To be eligible for financial aid at UCLA, students must meet or exceed these standards. The standards apply to all college coursework taken, regardless of whether financial aid was received or not, including coursework transferred from another institution. Academic progress is reviewed annually after winter quarter grades are available. Units attempted are measured on the census date, which is the end of third week each quarter. Students who fail to meet the Standards for Satisfactory Academic Progress will have their financial aid eligibility suspended.
