Princeton does not have a regularly scheduled summer term for students other than those in Summer Programs. Please consult individual course descriptions for application restrictions and eligibility requirements. Please note that a final decision about holding programs on-site will be made in March 2022.
There are four two-hour class periods each day, and all classes meet Monday through Thursday for the entire six weeks of the summer session. First period begins at 8:30 a.m., and the last period of the day ends at 5:45 p.m. Upon completion of 24 days of a two-hour course, students may earn a semester credit.

New York University is on a semester system. Semester systems are typically around 14-16 weeks long. They consist of 3 terms: Fall, Spring, and Summer.
Go to Albert "Holds." Make sure your contact information is up-to-date in Albert by going to Personal Info. To register for classes, you are required to have a current NYU Emergency Alert cell phone number and the number of a person to contact in the event of an emergency. Add your planned classes in Albert.
PASS/FAIL OPTION You can choose to Pass/Fail one course per term, including the summer sessions. You are able to declare the pass/fail option before the end of the fourteenth week of the semester (fifth week of a six-week summer session) by consulting with your CAS advisor.

For a subject-specific and intensive experience, you may want to consider one of the specialized academic programs listed below. Each one focuses on one academic area, with the course curriculum already designed for you.
Full-time study is 12 credits total for a twelve-week session, 6 credits total for a six-week session, or 3 credits total for a three-week session. Full-time study for students taking non-credit courses is at least 18 hours of class per week. International students receiving a visa from NYU are required to enroll full-time.
The maximum number of credits a student may enroll in is 16 credits total for a twelve-week session, 8 credits total for a six-week session, or 3 credits total for a three-week session.
Tisch School of the Arts Courses. Tisch Undergraduate Film and TV (FMTV-UT) classes do not allow for non-majors to enroll directly in Albert. To enroll in a Tisch Undergraduate film class you will need to utilize the procedure for non-majors enrollment request process.
Only Stern Open Access Courses are open to visiting students. Students must submit a course enrollment request form for any Stern course regardless of whether there are prerequisites. Please note: Stern School of Business does not allow students who have completed an undergraduate degree to enroll in courses.
Space in Tandon courses is limited, and the Tandon School does not open classes to non- Tandon students until immediately prior to the start of class.
Because being wait listed does not guarantee you will get into the course, it is best to choose alternative courses so you have a back-up schedule. You cannot attend a wait listed course.
Albert does not email you if and when this happens. You must monitor your course registration in Albert to see if you ever get off a wait list. It is not possible to predict your chances of getting into a wait listed course. Students can add or drop courses in Albert through the start of each term.

If you have been de-enrolled from your classes as a result of non-payment, follow the steps below to re-register. These steps apply to spring, summer, fall and January terms.
NYU undergraduates do not need to complete an application to be reviewed for NYU summer scholarship. Our hope is that by removing this barrier, more qualified students will be able to be reviewed for scholarship funding. Summer scholarships will be awarded based on eligibility, enrollment, and financial need.
We anticipate that all students who are enrolled for summer courses will be awarded on April 1. Your summer financial aid package will be based on your eligibility and can include NYU scholarship and/or federal financial aid. Students who wish to pursue a private loan will need to apply with their chosen lender.
NYU scholarship amounts will vary as they are dependent on factors such as eligibility, enrollment, and financial need. Your financial aid cannot exceed your estimated cost of attendance.
When a summer award has been added to your Albert Student Center, you will receive two emails, one letting you know that there has been a revision to your financial aid and another letting you know that a summer award was added to your academic year award. Instructions on how to accept your award will be in this email.
A private loan may be an option for you if you are not eligible for federal aid. NYU does not endorse, recommend or prefer any particular private loan over another. Note that loan terms and eligibility requirements can vary. Review our information about lenders that NYU students have used in the past.
If you have completed a FAFSA, are eligible for Pell Grant funds, and have remaining lifetime eligibility, you will be reviewed for Pell Grant after enrolling in summer courses.
If you are a New York State resident you may be eligible for a summer Tuition Assistance Program (TAP) Grant if you are enrolled as a full-time student (12 credits or more). Your potential TAP grant can be determined by using the New York State TAP Estimator.
The total cost for tuition is $2,100.00 USD, and Computer Engineering for Good requires an additional $100.00 materials fee. We ask for $1,000.00 to be paid within 5 days of acceptance in order to officially hold your spot. The other $1,100.00 will be due by the week before your session start date.
