CCD offers face-to-face courses in which you are required to attend class on specific days and times. Instruction may include lectures, small group discussions, labs, field trips, studio art or other in-person delivery methods. These courses also include online exercises.

Prerequisites exist to help you be successful in your classes. They indicate knowledge you must have gained from a different class, or knowledge you can demonstrate on an exam, before you can enroll. Successful completion of the prerequisite is required prior to enrolling in the course, (a grade of A, B, or C).
If you are intending to enroll in BIO 204, you are required to complete BIO 111 or BIO 201 with a grade of C or better or pass the Biology Placement Test.
You may add classes until the last day to register according to published deadlines. You may drop classes for a full refund by the published census date for each class. Dates are published each semester at CCD.edu/Academic-Calendar.
You must pay for the class in full before an audit request will be processed. Once the audit has been approved, the class cannot be changed to a credited class. Audited classes are not eligible for the College Opportunity Fund stipend. You will be responsible for the full in-state or out-of-state tuition.
In addition to the online courses CCD offers, you can also take online courses taught by Colorado Community College Online instructors. These are not CCD instructors but are instructors with CCCOnline who teach online courses for all 13 community colleges across the state.

If you are intending to enroll in BIO 204, you are required to completeBIO 111 or BIO 201 with a grade of C or better or pass the BiologyPlacement Test. Transfer students who have taken an equivalent collegebiology class should submit previous transcripts from a regionally accreditedcollege or university to the Testing Center for approval of the prerequisiterequirement. When submitting to the Testing Center, you must indicatethat you would like a biology prerequisite override so that your assignedacademic advisor and/or an academic advisor in the STEM advising pathwaycan be notified. Although the College can transfer in a BIO 111 course that isup to 10-years old for prerequisite waivers, some Center for Health Sciencesprograms require that BIO 111 must be completed no more than seven yearsprior to enrollment in BIO 204.
Eighteen (18) credit hours is the maximum course load for all students.You cannot register for more than 18 credits in any given semester withoutreview and approval by the senior advisor for the advising pathway thatcontains your program or major. You should first connect with your assignedacademic advisor to initiate this process.
CCD offers Algebraic Literacy (MAT 055) to University of Colorado Denver(CU Denver) students who require remediation in mathematics. CU Denverstudents must register for MAT 055 at their home institution and must adhereto registration procedures and deadlines set by CU Denver. Final grades willappear on both CCD and CU Denver transcripts. If a student should transferfrom CU Denver to CCD, these courses will be included in the student'sSatisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) calculation for financial aid at CCD.
The typical course load for full-time CCD students is 12 or more credit hours.For tuition and certification purposes, if you register for fewer than 12 credithours, you are considered part-time during the academic year.
Students who stop attending class but do not officially withdraw willearn an F grade for the course. Veterans who fail to inform CCD’s VACertifying Official that they have stopped attending a course may receive anoverpayment or debt notification from the VA.
Thisis a measure of your academic achievement and is calculated by dividing thetotal number of grade points earned by the total number of credits attempted.Only grades received in college-level courses taken at CCD are used tocalculate GPA.
The VA does not generally pay for courses that are not required forthe student's program of study. VA benefits cannot be used towards arepeated course that has been successfully completed, even if the studentintends on repeating the course in order to raise their cumulative GPA. Acourse for which a grade of D was assigned may be repeated if a highergrade is required for the program of study. The VA will not pay for onlinedevelopmental courses. Only developmental courses taken on campus areeligible for VA benefits.
CCD policies set the expectations for students, faculty, and staff at CCD. If any of these policies are confusing, please reach out to your faculty member or to your academic advisor for clarification.
The dean will investigate and respond in writing within 15 days. The dean’s decision is the final step of the grade appeal process.
To receive an extenuating circumstance appeal packet, you must first meet with your academic advisor. You must complete and submit an extenuating circumstance appeal packet and all supporting documentation within one calendar year from the end of the semester for which you are appealing.
The unsatisfactory grade is equivalent to a D or F grade. These grades are not included in the GPA calculation. The course will count in attempted credits, but will not carry earned credits. S/A, S/B, S/C - Satisfactory. These are satisfactory grades awarded only for developmental and remedial courses.
In the event that you and your instructor cannot reach resolution concerning an incomplete, then you should contact the program chair. In requesting an incomplete grade, you must present the instructor with documentation of circumstances justifying an incomplete grade.
A fourth repeat attempt will require an appeal, which must be approved by the director of academic advising. All grades for the repeated class will be listed on the transcript. The transcript will note which course (s) were repeated and designate which course will be included in your GPA.
You are evaluated in class using a letter-grade system which is based on how many course learning outcomes you have met. Instructors have the authority to assign grades. For more information, read your course syllabus and ask your instructor to explain their grading system. This is the meaning of each grade.
