Overview

Work has begun to improve the look and function of Eastwood Road between Bretonshire Road and Cavalier Drive. This is a voter-approved 2014 Transportation Bond project that has been combined with a privately funded project to better coordinate the work and get it completed more quickly.

Next Steps

Crews will begin by clearing areas adjacent to the road. Once the road work starts, it will occur primarily at night with some overnight single lane closures between Bretonshire Road and Cavalier Drive. No daytime closure are expected and the adjacent Cross-City Trail is expected to remain open throughout the project.

Improvements to limit left turns on Eastwood Road

This busy corridor is a primary route for traffic to Wrightsville Beach. Improvements include a median with traffic signals and U-turn areas along Eastwood Road between Cardinal Drive and Military Cutoff Road.
