Guests staying overnight at Maswik Lodge should be prepared to walk ¼ mile from the Grand Canyon Depot to the Maswik facility until this shuttle is operating. The Grand Canyon Amtrak stop is the Flagstaff Station on the Southwest Chief route. However, there is still a ways to go to reach the amazing natural wonder after getting off the train. At minimum, it’s an additional 1 hour and 20 minute drive to reach the national park once you’ve completed your Amtrak commute.
Note that the Grand Canyon Railway adds time, money and extra transfers to your trip, and does not have any views of the Grand Canyon. So if you don’t want to rent a car or are unable to, then reserve a shuttle in Flagstaff.
