As a result of the coronavirus, the University of California system announced that nearly all of its classes would be virtual for the Fall 2020 semester. The only potential exceptions would be some classes for nursing students and students who needed to conduct lab work as part of their degree requirements.
As of now, it looks like this change will stay in place beyond the COVID-19 pandemic. In Fall 2022 and Fall 2023, UC will switch over to being a test blind school for California students. This means that, even if you submit ACT or SAT scores, they won't be looked at by the admissions team.

Congrats! That means you are ranked in the top 9% of your graduating class either within your high school or across the entire state. When final admissions decisions are reached, any student who qualifies for the UC system through ELC but has not been accepted to any of the campuses to which they have applied will be offered a spot wherever there is room. In previous years, this has meant being offered a spot at UC Merced.
