In order to apply to become a certified Practitioner in DDP approved by the DDPI, the 56-hour DDP Core Training found below needs to be completed. Attending a Level One training does not enable participants to advertise or say that they practise DDP or that their work is DDP-informed.
To become a Certified DDPI-approved Practitioner, an individual first needs to complete the 56-hour DDP Core Training given by a DDPI Board approved Trainer. Individuals from a wide range of professions also attend this training who do not plan to later become certified.
DDP training and certification provided by trainers who are not DDPI-approved is not recognised by DDPI. This includes the training and certification in DDP offered by the Attachment-Focused Treatment Institute based in New York, USA. From August 2020 virtual training was agreed as an option due to the restrictions on venue-based trainings as a result of coronavirus. Virtual training dates and times may differ from face-to-face arrangements. DDP training and certification provided by trainers who are not DDPI-approved is not recognised by DDPI.

The Demand Driven Planner (DDP)™ Program is official preparatory education for the Demand Driven Planner Professional (DDPP)™. The Demand Driven Planner Professional (DDPP)™ is a professional endorsement certification offered by the Demand Driven Institute, the global authority for Demand Driven education, training, certification and compliance.
Step 1: Attend Level One and Level Two (56 hours in total) of DDPI approved training. Complete the DDPI approved DDP Level One or Introductory training (28 Hours) and DDP Level Two or Advanced Training (28 hours). This is a total of 56 hours of face-to-face training in Dyadic Developmental Practice and Psychotherapy.
The training must be provided by a DDPI certified and DDPI-approved Trainer. It is recommended that there is about a six-month gap between Level One and Level Two. This can be waived in certain circumstances, such as for delegates experienced in this type of work travelling to another country for their training.
To complete the Level 1 Certification you must: Complete 100 hours of DDP YOGA practice. This should mostly consist of practicing the Level 1 Workout. Practice teaching the Level 1 Workout to 2 or more students for a minimum of 20 hours. Video and submit your Level 1 Workout.

After final approval you will become a Practitioner in DDP, and receive your Practitioner Certificate valid for 4 years. This certificate will include the DDPI trademark, your DDPI membership number, and the dates your certification runs for.

Your mid point and final submitted recordings need to be of your work with a child and his or her parent (s) or carer (s). At least two and no more than four submitted recordings need to be of your DDP work with parents.
Please remember that DDPI does not accept legal responsibility for the welfare of clients. A minimum of two families or situations, with an optimal number of three, need to be submitted for review during the practicum. Classroom Phase. As an IDP participant, you must attend all seven weekly classroom sessions. Each session takes 2 to 3 hours for 16 hours total. Participation in the Impaired Driver Program is available on a voluntary basis if you have been convicted of an alcohol or drug related driving violation, unless you have participated in the program within the last 5 years, or have been convicted of another alcohol or drug violation within 5 years of the current alcohol or drug violation. However, these limitations do not restrict the ability of the court to mandate participation, even if you have already attended an Impaired Driver Program within the previous 5 years. In such situations, participation will be required, yet you will not be eligible for a conditional license or privilege.
The maximum IDP enrollment fee is $234, payable to the program you attend. Payment is expected when you attend the first class. There will be additional fees if you transfer to another IDP or apply to re-enter a program you have been dropped from.
The IDP will provide you with a “Notice of Completion” when all program requirements have been met. This information will also be electronically transmitted to DMV.
