Most Ironman events have a time limit of 16 or 17 hours to complete the race, course dependent, with the race typically starting at 7:00am. The mandatory cut off time to complete the 2.4-mile (3.86 km) swim is 2 hours 20 minutes.
Each athlete will have8 hours and 30 minutes to complete the race. Any athlete that takes longer than 8 hours and 30 minutes to complete the race will receive a DNF and will not be eligible for age group awards and will not be eligible for IRONMAN 70.3 World Championship slots.

Athletes who choose to wear a wetsuit in water temperatures 76.2 degrees Fahrenheit (24.55 degrees Celsius) and up to 83.8 degrees Fahrenheit (28.77 degrees Celsius) will not be eligible for Age Group awards, including World Championship or Rolldown slots.
Wetsuits are permitted if the water temperature is up to (and including) 76.1 degrees Fahrenheit (24.5 degrees Celsius) or colder. Wetsuits cannot measure more than 5 mm thick. Wetsuits will be prohibited in water temperatures greater than 83.8 degrees Fahrenheit (28.8 degrees Celsius).
Participants have 17 hours to finish the triathlon. Throughout the event, there are time cut-offs for each leg, according to Ironman rules and regulations. After an athlete crosses the start line for the swim they have 2 hours and 20 minutes to finish.
The full Ironman triathlon race is a total of 140.6 miles. The swim on Lake Coeur d'Alene is 2.4 miles, then a 112 bike ride along the lake and down Highway 95. It finishes with a marathon through downtown Coeur d'Alene. The Lake City is a popular venue for the famous event.
There are officially winners of Ironman CDA 2021. Sam Long came in first place becoming the pro men's champion while Carrie Lester came in first place as the pro women's champ. Her total time was 8:54:51.

The triathlon remained in the lake city until 2017. After this, A half Ironman was added in Coeur d'Alene in 2016 and 2017. Only Ironman 70.3 Coeur d'Alene was held in 2018 and 2019.

The one-loop 1.2 mile (1.9 km) swim course at Chasewater is anti-clockwise. Please note that Chasewater is not a public swimming area and any person found swimming in the lake outside of the official sessions will be withdrawn from the event.

The course offers a relatively fast final result but be sure to check out the bike course before you sign up.
If you are looking for the fastest 70.3 in the world or the best half ironman in Europe look no further than Brazil or Austria. Both are well known for their fast 70.3 courses. While Brazil’s half ironman times are maybe too fast for the distance, Austria’s on the other hand 70.3 stands up to scrutiny.
So while some may be graded as easy, it all comes down to how you adjust to the heat and how hard the swim, bike, and run courses are for your fitness . So for most, the easiest course will depend on how well it suits your physiology.
