Retake Test Candidates who do not pass their initial CTS exam can take the exam two additional times ($130 / Additional Attempt) with a minimum 30 day period between attempts.
Still, the CTS certifications serve the valuable purpose of helping you gain visibility amongst hiring managers and recruiters. In one manager's words, a CTS is never required but shows the individual is “self-motivated and passionate about AV.”
The CTS General has 100 questions and 10 test questions, so to be safe you'd aim for 80% of the scored questions, plus 10 more (in case 10 of those you are confident about “don't count”). I would recommend that you are fairly certain about 90 of the total 110 before submitting.
