We just replaced an old server (2008 R2) with a new unit running 2012 Std. Our backup software (Backup Exec 2012) is not compatible with 2012 (go figure), so we had to keep the old server running. As a result, we need to automatically copy a folder from the new server to the old every day, so that we can back it up.

Backup Exec 2012 SP2 supports backing up Windows Server 2012 machines. I'm not clear from your post if you are trying to back up the new server or use it to host the BE management.
