SPECIAL NOTE - REGISTRATION OF MINORS

Minors must register in person accompanied by their parent/guardian at the Dreisbach/Anderson Student Success Center, Barton Campus Building 102, 506 S. Pleasantburg Drive, during our regular business hours, Monday - Thursday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Fridays 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

COURSE DETAILS

Classes are available on Saturday from 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. and Wednesday and Thursday from 6 -10 p.m.

REGISTRATION

Due to the administrative reporting associated with these classes, we cannot offer same-day enrollment.

How many points does defensive driving take off your record?

The purpose of Defensive Driving is: To remove up to 4 points from your driving record and it may reduce your insurance. (You must contact your personal insurance company as all policies differ).

Can you take a defensive driving class after your license expires?

Once your license expires, you cannot take the class to reinstate your license, You will need to call National Safety ASAP. The class will not remove any charges from your driving record or restore your suspended license. You can only take a defensive driving class for point reduction one time every three years.

These courses are approved through the Safety and Health Council of North Carolina, and are designed for individuals who are seeking to improve their driving skills in order to decrease risks while on the road.

Alive at 25

The purpose of this program is to assist you in recognizing the risks you face as a young driver and will help you focus on your own driving behaviors and choices so that you can take responsibility for your behavior in driving situations and adopt safer driving practices. This class targets drivers 16-25 years of age.
