It lies against a natural hill on the eastern fringes of Akron Municipal-Fulton Airport. Derby Downs is a center of activity and interest from the spring through the fall for special events, corporate outings, Derby rallies and local races leading up to the FirstEnergy All-American Soap Box Derby.
Derby Arena is located on Pride Park, just outside Derby city centre. Derby Arena is signposted on all major routes. Take the first exit from the A52 (signposted for the Wyvern Centre) and follow the slip road until you reach a roundabout. At the roundabout take the second exit (turn right) along Wyvern Way. Follow Wyvern Way until you reach the next roundabout and take a left onto Derwent Parade. Continue straight until you reach Derby Arena.

There is a garage and service area at the top of the track which serve as car storage and the "service pit" area during the All-American Soap Box Derby Race Week. The Derby Hall of Fame and Museum building on George Washington Boulevard, funded by Summit County, was added in 2001.
On the west side of the track's run-out area is the International Soap Box Derby organization's headquarters building, which was built in 1992. The Derby program's year-round administrative staff operates from the headquarters.

From the North (M1) 1 Exit the M1 at Junction 28 and follow the A38 South towards Derby 2 Remain on the A38 until the roundabout with the A61 (Signposted Derby A61). Take the exit towards A61. 3 Remain on A61 until the Pentagon Island roundabout where the signposts will direct you onto the A52 towards Nottingham and Spondon. 4 Take the first exit from the A52 (signposted for the Wyvern Centre) and follow the slip road until you reach a roundabout. 5 At the roundabout take the second exit (turn right) along Wyvern Way. 6 Follow Wyvern Way until you reach the next roundabout and take a left onto Derwent Parade. 7 Continue straight until you reach Derby Arena.
Continue straight on A52. Take the first exit from the A52 (signposted for the Wyvern Centre) and follow the slip road until you reach a roundabout. At the roundabout take the second exit (turn right) along Wyvern Way.
Directions from the West (A50) Exit the A50 at Junction 2 (signposted as A6 for Derby) and head north along the A6. Take the second exit (go straight) at the first roundabout and carry on straight along A6 (Raynesway). After you have reached Derby and driven past Rolls Royce you will need to take an exit/slip road A52 towards Derby.
Arriving by bike. Derby Arena is easily accessible for the National Cycle Network. The riverside pathway, National Cycle Route 6, provides a traffic free way of getting you close to the Arena from the city centre as well as from the south of the city.
Due to the ongoing A52 Wyvern Transport Improvements, your journey to Derby Arena may be affected. The Wyvern to A52 westbound on-slip road will be closed for 13 months from Monday 3 June 2019. Diversion routes can be found here .
