21 stagesThere will be 21 stages: 6 flat stages. 7 hilly stages. 6 mountain stages with 5 summit finishes (La super Planche des Belles Filles, Col du Granon, Alpe d'Huez, Peyragudes, Hautacam)
There are time bonuses of 10-6-4 seconds for the finish of each stage except the time trials. There are also 8-5-2 seconds at the bonus sprints marked “B” on the profiles above, typically atop various mountain passes. Green: the points jersey, which tends to reward the sprinters.
Tour de France director Christian Prudhomme has made a long-awaited confirmation that Amaury Sport Organisation (ASO) will launch a women's Tour de France in 2022. Zwift announced that it will become the title sponsor of the Tour de France Femmes avec Zwift that will be held from July 24-31 in 2022.
The women's peloton will race a 107.4km starting in Brest and finishing with three laps of a 14-kilometre with the finish line atop the Côte de la Fosse aux Loups in Landerneau. There is a total elevation gain of 1,800m and the race will favour the punchiest riders.
Demi Vollering (Team SD Worx) won La Course by Le Tour de France, held on the morning of stage 1 of the men's Tour de France. After an aggressive race, the 24-year-old Dutchwoman was the fastest in a sprint of a group of eight, passing Marianne Vos (Team Jumbo-Visma) on the last metres to take the victory.
Cedrine Kerbaol has a lead of 1'15 now with 77km to go as the peloton let her dangle out there for now. There's no real commitment from the main field with Jumbo Visma posting just one rider on the front.
Cedrine Kerbaol would be happy to see a small group come up to her at this point but that's unlikely at this stage. Her gap is down to just 30 seconds.
Noémie Abgrall has been caught by the bunch and Chapman goes once more as we see a few more DSM riders move up towards the front. 62km to go and the gap for Cedrine Kerbaol is just 32 seconds. She's having a tremendous ride though.
Cedrine Kerbaol and Elena Pirrone have just a handful of seconds on the peloton but there's been a huge acceleration from the peloton. Pirrone seems reluctant or unable to take much of a turn.

The newly crowned French champion, riding for FDJ Nouvelle-Aquitaine Futuroscope in her blue, white and red jersey, was part of an 8-strong move which has also been shut down by the main group.
The front of the peloton is still riding like a bat out of hell. Arkéa–Samsic's Typhaine Laurance only gained a few bike lengths before being chased down.
These courses will also expose the reality of women’s lives and concerns, including their social and/or political views, issues of sexuality, and the relationship between the personal and the political. Analyzing multiple texts of women’s lives in such detail necessitates an examination of the cultural and/or global diversity of feminist perspectives and feminist political/social/cultural movements. Ultimately, students will emerge from these courses with an enhanced ability to express themselves critically on the subject of creative and culturally diverse texts that address women.
Courses in the social and behavioral sciences will provide students with an understanding of the contemporary reality of women’s lives and gender relations and enable them to analyze the concept of gender critically. Students will use institutional, structural, and behavioral analyses to assess gender relations and women’s status in various societies. Cross-cultural, global, and intersectional perspectives will connect gender inequality to other categories of oppression and allow students to comprehend the diversity of women’s experiences. Students in these courses will gain a critical understanding of how various research tools, including quantitative and qualitative methodologies, are used to study women and gender. Students will learn how feminism has informed social research, and how social research has informed feminist theory.
Demi Vollering, who is understandably still out of breath, speaks to Eurosport: “I was not expecting that from today ... I was really looking forward to it, this morning ... yeah, I don’t know ... it was an awesome race! It’s awesome ... she [teammate Anna van der Breggen] did it again.
Cecilie Uttrup Ludwig snatched second, Vos was third, Van der Breggen fourth. Lizzie Deignan of Trek-Segafredo, who won last year was ninth, but she would have been hoping for far more than that.
Demi Vollering (SD Worx) wins the sprint! Van der Breggen produced a powerful attack in the closing metres ... Vos responded, and edged ahead, but Vollering comes past her Dutch compatriot and takes the win! Great ride.
37km to go: Pirrone is now being closed down by a chasing group that has bridged across from the peloton - so we now have a lead group of about 10 riders.
Welcome to our coverage of La Course, the one-day women’s Tour de France race, which this year takes the form of a 107.7km route between Brest and Landernau in Brittany.
