Our WFR curriculum satisfies the Wilderness Medical Society's published recommendations for Wilderness First Responder, and is recognized internationally. The CPR portion of this class is Basic Life Support (Professional Rescuer), accredited through the American Heart Association.
I found the biggest benefit of the WFR was drilling vitals and patient assessment. I'd say that the WFR is worth the extra time and money over a WFA. First and foremost, if you want to become a first aid trainer in Australia you will need to have an entry-level teaching qualification. The Standards for Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) 2015 govern the delivery of nationally accredited training and assessment in Australia. Under these standards, trainers and assessors will be required to hold a TAE40110 (updated on 31 March 2019, previously known as TAE40116) Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or an ASQA recognised equivalent qualification (with evidence of recognition).
