Students will not be allowed to register for courses with a time conflict. Please note, however, if a course has VR (variable) or TBA (to be announced) listed, registration cannot check for a conflict.
Drop begins on the first day of classes and continues until midnight of the fifth day of classes for all undergraduate level courses (0097 - 5999) and all graduate level courses (6000 - 9999).
If an undergraduate student has not registered for classes within three semesters of his or her last enrolled semester, he or she will be required to apply for readmission to UGA as a former undergraduate student.
In order to register for a class whose time overlaps with another class for which you have already registered, you must obtain a note from the instructor of the second class indicating allowances for the conflict to be arranged. It is then brought to the Registrar’s office so class can be added.
Academic Planner. The Academic Planner allows you to plan out future semesters. Select the courses you intend to register for and assign them to future semesters to create a plan for graduation. You can plan by your graduation requirements to ensure your planned classes are working to complete your degree.
The Academic Requirements Report tracks your progress as you work to complete your current declared program (s). It combines your coursework history and graduation requirements into one comprehensive report that allows you to easily view what has been satisfied and what is still outstanding to earn your degree. You can use the report to target courses to fulfill remaining requirements as well as save or print a PDF snapshot of your progress toward your degree.
Schedule Builder allows you to input your desired classes, and it will show you every possible schedule available to you now, using real-time data for the semester you’re planning. You can configure and reconfigure schedules around work or personal breaks, classes in which you’ve already enrolled, club meetings, athletic breaks, practices, and more. Schedule Builder also enables you to efficiently identify additional classes that fit into your schedule once you have enrolled into courses from your shopping cart. You can also view your current Class Schedule in the Student Administration System.
A course can only be "dropped" during the official drop/add period at the beginning of each semester or part of term. The drop/add period is the window available to edit a schedule prior to becoming official. Dropped courses are removed from the student's class schedule and will not appear on transcripts.
There is no refund for withdrawing from a course on your schedule. Before the mid-point of a term, a withdrawal equals a grade of W and will not affect your GPA. After the mid-point and withdrawal deadline of a term, a withdrawal equals a grade of WF and will count the same as an F in your GPA.
Beginning Fall 2018, University System of Georgia (USG) institutions will be required to designate sections of courses whose course materials exclusively consist of no-cost (open or free textbooks) or low-cost course materials. Courses that meet this criteria will use the following designation.
Repeat course option. Students who earn a D or F in a course may repeat the course and request that only the better grade be counted toward their cumulative GPA. This option is available only for undergraduate courses, and can only be used once per course.
