Woodlands Course Many consider this course to be the most picturesque of all Chateau Elan's championship layouts.
On your average golf course the longest par 3 hole may be 215 yards or so in length. Some more difficult courses may have par 3 holes that stretch as far as 240 yards which is much further than a typical par 3 golf hole which can be as short as 90 yards.

A common standardized type of par-3 course is the "Pitch and Putt" course, where each of the 9 or 18 holes has a distance from tee to cup of less than 100 yards, with an overall 18-hole course distance no more than 1,200 yards (so each hole averages 67 yards).

Few golf resorts possess the beauty and variety offered by Château Élan’s 45 holes of championship golf. From the rolling Georgia hills of the Woodlands to the serene valley lakes on the Château, each course is unique in character and design.
The Legends. The Legends, a private members-only golf club, is the masterpiece of celebrated golf greats Gene Sarazen, Sam Snead, and Kathy Whitworth. Each selected six of their favorite holes from around the world, then crafted each hole onto The Legends layout.
Within a matter of months, Gene, Kathy, and Sam signed on to participate in the design of the Legends course, along with architect Denis Griffiths. Each of them contributed by choosing their favorite 6 holes from around the world that they wanted to mimic into the final composition.
Both Don and Mike uttered the name “Kathy Whitworth,” as they came up with the idea, followed by laughter. She was the most successful women golfer of all time, winning 88 professional events. It was a no brainer and an honor to have Kathy as one of the original Legends.
