Obstacle Course Campground – Bottom Line
Obstacle Course Campground is basically a place in the dirt with fire ring and shade ramada to pitch your tent or park your RV; oh, and there is a four-wheel drive park that is all around your campground.
When To Go
Spring – Hollister Hills SVRA is always busy and Sycamore Campground can fill up pretty quickly given its size. The spring season (the earlier in the season, the better) tends to be less busy and your liklihood getting a campsite is higher. Also, the summer temperatures peak in the mid-80’s, where as the spring tempuratures are usually mid-60’s.
What To Do
Off-roading – The number one reason anyone camps at Hollister Hills SVRA is to go off-roading. The Upper Ranch recreation area, where Sycamore Campground is located, has 24 miles of four-wheel drive trails that vary is degrees. Similar to ski runs, all of the trails are rated with posted signs at trailheads. The ratings are as follows:
