Doak and the team at Renaissance Golf Design have laid out a “reversible" golf course called The Loop. Golfers playing The Loop head out on the course's Black routing in a clockwise rotation one day. The next, everyone turns around and plays the Red routing in a counter- clockwise manner.
It’s simplest to think of it as a one person relay. After a mass start each runner runs 2,3 or 4 loops (depending which race you are in), but not necessarily in the same order, but so that by the end you've all run the same course. There is a map exchange at the end of every loop.Dec 13, 2003
point-to-point, race run during the non-hunting season (February to May) by horses regularly ridden at fox hunts. The races originated in England in the second half of the 19th century as a way to keep hunters fit and were first called hunt races. Each hunt had one such race.
First, Boston is a “point-to-point” marathon, meaning that it travels from one location to another over the course of the race. This is unlike many other notable marathons (and Olympic versions), which travel in a loop.Sep 28, 2021
Out-and-backs are a type of progression run in which your effort and pace increases during the second half of the run. The goal is simply to negative-split the session, running out to a point and returning at a faster pace back to the original point.

A Point-to-Point is a form of amateur horse racing over fences held at a variety of Point-to-Point racecourses throughout the UK. It's a great day out in the countryside where people come together to enjoy the sport and to socialise.

The Black Course is a less traditional setup, with a tough start and an easier finish. Par for the front side is only 34, with three short holes at the 2nd, 5th and 8th, and just one par-5.
Some of designer Tom Doak’s favorite holes include: The long par-4 3rd, with its green sitting out on the edge of a ridge. The short par-4 4th, where a drive to the left opens up a view of the green through a narrow slot between mounds.
