Bonita (Spanish for "Beautiful") is a census-designated place (CDP) in southern San Diego County, California, nestled between the cities of Chula Vista, National City, and San Diego. The population was 12,538 at the 2010 census.
With such a wealth of affordable, interesting, and reasonably well-conditioned golf options, there aren't many reasons for a local golfer to play Chula Vista. For one, it is definitely walkable, as the largest hills are the sides of its sand traps. For two... um...
It still has its positivities but lacks in keeping up with the courses over all beauty. Parking is easy and has a vast amount of it. There is also a track that wraps all around the course, so you will see several people walking, jogging, and running (especially people horseback riding).
There are soft ball fields, multiple playgrounds, LOTS of grass, a trail, pavement trail, and a workout area! The dog park even has a playground, cute water fountain, and it's ALL grass! Large well kept park in South Bay, San Diego.
Rohr park is one of the best places for a great 3 mile walk, jog or run. The track surrounds a golf course which makes it impossible for you to cheat yourself. Meaning, when you start the track you must finish it... technically you can stop and turn around but what's the point when you're already halfway! :)
They have a dog park on site or you can simply walk your dog on the trail. Plenty of parking too, they have multiple parking lots throughout the park so if you're meeting with a friend for the first time, make sure you guys arrange the correct parking lot. The perfect place to work out and get it right get it tight!
