Students wishing to withdraw from a course would log into myPurdue and navigate to Scheduling Assistant from the Registration tab. If you are not in Scheduling Assistant, click on the link on the left side of the page. Find the class you want to drop. Hover over it and click to select the course. A window will pop up.

Late Drop Period Dropping a course during weeks 3 and 4 of a full semester will result in a grade of 'W' on your academic record.
If you are interested in distance learning courses, please speak with your academic advisor. A withdrawal grade (W, WF, or WN) doesn't technically have a negative effect on your academic standing at Purdue. They are not actual grades, so they cannot have an impact on your GPA.
Log into myPurdue.purdue.edu and from Registration tab, select Use Scheduling Assistant. From the Add/Drop courses box, search for the course to add and then select Submit Schedule button. Student will receive a message stating that the course cannot be scheduled, but the student can request additional approvals.

A grade of WP indicates that a student wishing to withdraw from a class was passing the course at the time of the request to withdraw; a grade of WF indicates that the student was failing the course at the time of the request to withdraw. Neither WP nor WF will affect the student's GPA.

Dropping a class may mean that a future term's academic load will be heavier or that your graduation will be delayed. If any courses are a co-requisite to the course you are dropping, you will be required to drop the co-requisite course as well.
Study abroad students should be particularly aware of this 24 credit limit. Students taking a foreign language course for the purpose of receiving back credit (i.e., taking 20200 to get credit for 10100 - 20200) cannot use the Pass/No Pass option.
ECE students may take general education or complementary elective courses with the pass/no pass grade option. Students are not permitted to take any engineering, mathematics, or science course required for an ECE degree using this grade option. FYE Requirements, courses being used toward a minor, and courses that explicitly forbid pass/no pass are also excluded.
International students are required to be enrolled full-time in order to maintain their visa status. Although a grade of W or WF does not affect your GPA, be aware that a pattern of Ws and/or WFs can blemish your academic record.

Revising your schedule to reduce your credit hour load, while remaining enrolled in at least one course, is considered "Dropping". If you are canceling the last or only class on your schedule, the university considers this "Withdrawing".
