Course Details. The Marine Corps Historic Half course features 13.1 miles of scenic and historic landmarks in and around Fredericksburg, Virginia. Runners begin their journey at the Fredericksburg Expo and Conference Center on Carl D. Silver Parkway and head south through the shops and restaurants of Central Park.

The course is challenging, but not difficult and you can see a lot of DC, even parts of town I've never been to, and this was my second marathon there in the last 2 years. I'm disappointed that I didn't get to go see the Smithsonian this time, but there is plenty to do around the National Harbor.
