Active GolfNow VIPs may cancel their reservation online at least one hour prior to their scheduled tee time and will not be charged. However, if you do not cancel at least one hour prior to your scheduled tee time, the golf course reserves the right to charge up to the full amount of the round.
The Rules of Golf do not govern when the Committee should cancel a round; however, they do provide guidelines on this situation. Generally, a round should be canceled only when it would be grossly unfair not to cancel it and further play for that day is impossible.
To cancel a reservation, go to your “Upcoming Reservations” page. Click “Modify Players or Cancel” on the reservation that you would like to cancel. Select the number of players you wish to remove from your reservation and a reason, and click “Submit Cancellation.”
But what happens if a player does miss their tee time? Rule 5.3a states that golfers must tee off at the exact time of their allotted tee time, no earlier or no later. If a golfer tees off less than five minutes early, they receive a general penalty, which is two strokes.
If the golf course chooses to allow a tee time to be canceled online, a cancel button will appear next to the reservation when you do a search of your reservation history. To access your reservation history, log into your account and click on the “My Profile” button in the top-right.
Typically, most golf courses won't close when it's raining unless the deluge is heavy enough to render the fairways and greens unplayable, or if the conditions pose any physical risk to competitors. If water begins pooling on the course or lightning is present, play will almost always be halted.
Be sure to wear waterproof shoes and pack a pair of dry socks, preferably storing them in a sealed plastic bag. Again, look for materials like GORE-TEX, which are breathable as well as waterproof.
A decision for resuming suspended matches/adjusting the length of rounds and/or matches will be made on a case-by-case, day-by-day, basis taking all factors into account. So, in short, we will play in the rain. Anyone who refuses to play in the rain will forfeit their match and probably be scorned by the group.
Golfers will be fully refunded any prepaid amounts. Refunds will be in the form of a GolfNow credit that applies to their GolfNow account. GolfNow credits can be used toward their next tee time reservation. GolfNow credits expire six (6) months after the issue date.
