Supplemental Instruction (SI) is a nontraditional form of tutoring that focuses on collaboration, group study, and interaction for assisting students in undertaking "traditionally difficult" courses.

Supplemental Instruction (SI) Leaders are students who facilitate weekly out-of-class group study sessions in targeted courses which they have successfully completed. SI Leaders utilize collaborative activities to ensure peer-to-peer interaction in small groups that integrate “what to learn” with “how to learn”.
Supplementary curriculum is required in special education when the needs of the student are not met by a traditional or existing curriculum. This may include accommodations or modifications to a traditional curriculum, or it may be an outside service provided to the student.
SI Leader Minimum Qualifications: Maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher. Earned a B or higher in the course that you wish to provide SI for. Possess good interpersonal skills. Must be able to attend the mandatory pre-semester SI leader orientation and training days.
This position requires approximately 9-10 hours per week, paid hourly at a rate of $10/hr.

This course examines the U.S. Constitution, the U.S. system of governments, and the ideas and values on which they are based. This course fulfills the U.S. Constitution + California State & Local Govt gen ed requirement and is three credits.
This art class gives an introduction to various techniques of and approaches to drawing, using still lifes, landscapes, and figures. The course satisfies the Arts general education requirement and is three credits. This class is offered in the summer as well, so you can take it then if it doesn't fit in your Fall or Spring schedule.
