Scholastic & Recreational Instructor

Scholastic and Recreational Instructor candidates learn the same skills as Level I instructors but have fewer prerequisites and less stringent standards. These certification courses are designed to train volunteer youth coaches to work with youth shooters and resort staff to work with beginning shooters in a safe and entertaining manner.

Level I

At the Level I course, our goal is to provide competent shooters with the knowledge and ability they need to teach the fundamentals of shotgunning to beginning or novice shooters.

Level II

At the Level II course, experienced instructors further hone their diagnostic skills and gain a deeper understanding of the mental game and what it means to evolve from instructor to coach. Instructors learn to create independent shooters by reinforcing the importance of pre-shot planning and a solid pre-shot routine.

Level III

The purpose of the Level III course is to produce an instructor who meets all the criteria for Level II and who can instruct up to the highest individual levels of proficiency in sporting clays and FITASC. They are encouraged to be active competitors, will encourage their students to compete in the sport, and will promote the sport to new shooters.
