TUI prohibits the unlawful manufacture, distribution, dispensation, sale, possession or use of any controlled substance by any of its students, faculty and staff in its workplace, on its premises or as part of any of its activities.
Academically disqualified students may apply for admission to TUI after one year from the time of disqualification. Students are required to complete the admission process and provide all official transcripts of any academic credit earned or attempted at other institutions since disqualification.

The normal time to degree for an undergraduate degree is considered to be four years. All requirements established for the completion of an undergraduate degree program must be completed within seven consecutive years.
TUI has a standing committee known as the Institutional Review Board (IRB). This board exists for the protection of human subjects and requires those students and faculty conducting research involving human subjects to submit their research proposals for review. Among others, the charge of the IRB is to ensure adherence to federal, state and local regulations; as well as established ethical principles including respect for persons, beneficence, and justice, as enunciated by the Belmont Report put out by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
The IRB membership shall include no fewer than five members with varying backgrounds appointed by the Provost. Appointments are for two years. The membership shall include at least three faculty members representing at least two colleges offering a Ph.D. program (approved by the Dean of the College, Faculty Council on Committees [FCC], and the Provost), at least one non-scientist member (appointed by the Provost), and one member, not otherwise associated with the University, representing the community (nominated by the IRB Committee and approved by the FCC and Provost). The Provost shall appoint the Chair of the IRB. Any IRB member must disclose a conflict of interest to the IRB Chair, and recuse him/herself from voting, review, and discussion of that protocol, except for addressing questions from the IRB as requested. A conflict of interest of an IRB member includes but is not limited to a protocol in which an IRB member participates as a researcher, supervises (e.g. dissertation chair), or has a financial interest. The IRB shall propose and establish guidelines and forms for exempt, expedited, regular and full reviews. The IRB shall also propose and establish amendments to guidelines, procedures and processes consistent with federal regulations and university policy.

Students completing bachelor or master degree programs are eligible for the 8-week format. Due to the rigor of the doctoral programs, Ph.D. courses are not available in the 8-week format. Courses have been reengineered by faculty to maximize the benefit of the shorter format. Courses have either 4 or 6 modules.
Trident University is a TOP NOTCH school that allows one to earn their degree by grading their understanding and articulation of the background reading and writing ability and understanding of the subject matter material. One must do their diligent research and be able to articulate an intelligent understanding of this via. Case Studies and Session Long Projects including class discussion or threaded discussions. There are no tests or quizzes. This eliminates the need to memorize useless facts and emphasizes the whole understanding of the subject matter and is graded fairly, accurately and with the application of the appropriate level of difficulty (e.g. Freshman, Sophomore, Junior or Senior). One must demonstrate their own mastery of the material by their own writing ability and be able to articulate this understanding inside 5 modules each with 2 essays and a class discussion (Threaded Discussion).
There is a good amount of research for each paper. You have to write two papers of various lengths that are due every two weeks. At TUI University one can expect to search the online libraries for much of the material. One will have to write thought provoking papers versus taking the traditional exams.
The course assignments apparently are written by people in some foreign country where English is not the native language. Such concepts of "subject" and "verb" apparently are not important enough to incorporate in the material. Unless you are clairvoyant it is impossible to know what you are required to do to complete your assignments. Perhaps they are relying on the fact that most of the students are military and thus used to following blindly the incomprehensible orders of idiots. Unless you speak ebonics or comprehend pidgin English, AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS!
TUIU is a great University. It is a pioneer in a learning online and should be the standard. Be prepared to write, write, write. Some people say the grading isn't too hard but it all depends on the instructor. I have had a few instructors that grade harder then any instructor I've had at a University in residence. I have gone to both brick and mortar Universities and now Online and I learned by far the most with TUIU. You must be disciplined and ready to learn. Be ready to research and to learn a lot on your own. TUIU is great I was never disappointed with the education I was receiving at TUIU. The instructors are all PhD.'s will years and years of experience teaching at traditional Universities all over the country. They are the same instructor's you would have at at any school except they have an exceptional amount of experience and all have PhD.'s. I challenge anyone to find a school with 100% PhD's teaching the all classes, graduate or undergraduate. Give TUIU a try you won't be disappointed.
Use of Technology: Touro University International was found in 1998, in 2007 the school was sold to Summit Partners and changed it's name to TUI. I started my degree program around the beginning of 2005 and graduated in the fall of 2008.
The financial aid department is a NIGHTMARE. You have to send things over and over and over and when you try to email someone to get some sort of an answer you never get an email back or a call back. No one seems to know what they are doing. And to be honest I barely had to work at writing papers and got A's. I like the way the modules were set up and that's about it. Not worth it! Go somewhere else.
