Once you have earned your Real Estate license, you will need to renew every two years by completing additional Continuing Education classes and paying a renewal fee to the Texas Real Estate Commission (TREC).
TREC allows up to 3 attempts to pass both the national and state law portions of the exam. If you fail one portion of the exam, you are only required to retake the portion you did not pass.

My License Services allows you to quickly and conveniently apply for a license, renew your license, change your license status, or update your address. You can log into an existing online account registered with TREC or register a new account under the My License Services section of the homepage of the website.

You will need to create an online account and get a User ID to access My License Services.
If your license expires, you cannot renew until CE requirements are met and you have paid the CE Deferral Fee. If you complete CE more than 60 days after your license expiration date, you will be subject to an additional late reporting fee of $250.
You may renew your license up to six months after the expiration date. After six months and up to two years past the expiration date, you may apply for reinstatement of your license. After two years past the expiration date, you will have to reapply and pass the examination.

It is important to remember that payment will not be accepted at the test center. Examination fees are non-refundable and non-transferable, so candidates should feel 100% prepaired to take the Texas Real Estate Exam before they sign up.
