Physical Education Requirements All undergraduate students who matriculate at SJSU, except those majors that are exempt as listed under Major Exemptions, are required to complete two units of physical education from Kinesiology/Dance activity courses (University Policy S14-11).
All Undergraduate students have an initial unit limit of 17 units. Graduating seniors who have a graduation application on file for Fall 2022, Spring 2023 or Summer 2023 with the Registrar's Office by March 14, 2022, can register up to 19 units without a petition beginning Friday, June 24, 2022.
Academic A minimum of 120 semester units of credit must be earned for graduation with the baccalaureate degree. Normally, no more than four units of Individual Studies (180) and/or Directed Reading (184) may count for the baccalaureate degree. Exceptions must have approval from the major department.
Upper division courses are numbered 100-199 and should be designed for juniors and seniors. It is recommended that upper division have a minimum prerequisite of upper division standing. Articulation agreements are available between university to university and other regionally accredited college and universities.
