The prisms are the way to go. My home course has them, and they work great! The tape is garbage! It will work for a few days/week, then it goes bad. Down the road the tape peels off, chips the sticks paint, gives it a terrible look.

There are prisms in the flagstick, a couple feet below the flag, at my local course. Do these serve the same purpose? Do you have to aim there? Or is the laser dispersed enough to hit that when aiming at the flag?
