Technical Mathematics covers material designed for career technical or general studies for students who need to study particular mathematical topics. Topics will include measurement, algebra, geometry, trigonometry, graphs and finance. These are presented on an introductory level and the emphasis is on applications.
“TechMath: Real World Math, Technology, and Business Connections” is a three-year program linking businesses, teachers, students, and higher education to enhance rural, underserved student career potential in northeastern North Carolina (NC).
If you neither have the time nor resources to take a class, the NJATC provides an online Tech Math course for a minimal fee. After completion of the course (which may take up to four months to complete) you will be sent a certificate that satisfies the algebra requirement for electrical apprenticeship.
The first math course a student takes depends on his or her background. In most cases, it will be MATH 105 (Calculus I), 106 (Calculus II), 205 (Linear Algebra), or 206 (Multivariable Calculus).
The test is administered at our location and takes approximately two-and-a-half hours to complete. It consists of two parts: Math and Reading Comprehension. A short break is given in-between. Our office receives results from the test approximately two weeks from the test date.

Begin with Algebra 1 and Geometry, often considered the building blocks of higher level math and science classes. Wrap up with Calculus, the highest level of math offered by many high schools and often considered the gold standard of pre-college math preparation.
