A score of 550+ on the GMAT is not so difficult. You are recommended to visit the GMAT club for various related posts and advice. We recommend you take a diagnostic test first and analyze your current math and verbal skills. This test will clearly help you understand your weak areas.
The only way to prepare is to know what you’re dealing with. By taking a diagnostic, not only will you have your current state and future state, but also you’ll be able to map out your progress and note which study methods work and which don’t.
The average score in the analytical writing section is a 4.34. This is an average between two scoring of your essay. The essay is an analysis of an argument so not only will the scorers be scoring you on your essay in itself, but also, they will be scoring you on the logic of your argument.
The only way to make it official is to sign up online. If you’re a morning person try to take a morning exam. If you’re an afternoon person, take the afternoon exam. Try to set up everything in your favor so that you can just concentrate on the test.

A 740 GMAT score (97th percentile) will place you above the average GMAT score of all MBA programs. Scoring at the 99th percentile (760 GMAT score and above) may help you secure merit scholarships at the M7 business schools assuming you have an equally well-rounded application.
That being said, the best way to predict your GMAT score is by taking multiple official GMAT practice tests under near exam-like conditions (perhaps at a cramped desk).

Myths about the GMAT are never in short supply, but the myth of the first 10 GMAT questions is one with serious staying power. Unfortunately, the reality is that overinvesting time in the first 10 questions of a GMAT section can have a negative impact on your score.
If you skip the Integrated Reasoning section, use a calculator during the Quant section, take a 10-minute break instead of an 8-minute one, peek at your notes during the practice test, or do anything else that you would not or could not do on test day, you may not get an accurate practice test score.
