Course load A minimum full-time course load for an undergraduate student is 12 credit hours. The maximum course load for which a student may register is 18 credit hours (it is 19 credit hours for students enrolled in the Ira A. Fulton Schools of Engineering), with a maximum of nine credit hours in each A or B session.

Each course is usually 3 to 4 credit hours, so this would mean you could enroll in about six classes per semester and two classes per summer session. So, 18 credit hours would equate to 9 credits and about three classes per session A and session B.
You're allowed to enroll in up to 18 credits hours for spring and fall semesters and seven credits for each summer session. Online courses are accelerated with most being just 7.5 weeks long. So, you’ll still need to complete the same number of credit hours.
Questions cannot be answered live as they can in a synchronous Zoom session. So, each online course has a community forum in which questions can be asked for all to see. This also helps with professor improvement because it tracks common questions that can be referenced later for content improvement.
All students are expected to maintain the minimum credits required in order to maintain their immigration status. Hybrid and ASU Immersion courses will be considered in-person courses. iCourses will still be considered online courses. In-person credits are required throughout the entire semester.
If you start your degree program at ASU in the summer semester or return to ASU on an initial or transfer-pending I-20 for the summer semester, you must meet full-time enrollment requirements by the start of the summer semester.
